JACQUELINE A. KELLY Candidate for Oakland Community College Board of Trustees

As an attorney with nearly 30 years of experience advising boards and fiduciaries, I understand the importance of thoughtful governance, financial oversight, and accountability. I am running for the Oakland Community College Board of Trustees because I want to use that experience to help ensure OCC remains a strong, affordable institution that creates opportunities for students throughout Oakland County.
 
As the parent of a former OCC student, I have seen firsthand the value of a community college education. OCC serves students with different goals and aspirations. Some are earning associate degrees. Others are preparing for careers in healthcare, public safety, the skilled trades, culinary arts, technology, and other in-demand fields. Many plan to transfer to a four-year college or university, while others return to OCC to gain new skills or advance their careers. All of these students are important, and all deserve the opportunity to succeed.
 
As Co-Founder and Managing Partner of AsherKelly and a former member of the Village of Beverly Hills Council, I will bring experience, accountability, and sound judgment to the Board of Trustees. I understand the importance of asking the right questions, making informed decisions, providing proper oversight, and ensuring that public resources are managed responsibly.
